Add Mavenlink to Home Screen for iPhone/iOS and Android

We've heard from a few mobile users asking for a native iOS/Android application, because they don't want to go to their browser every time. In speaking with quite a few folks, we realized that not everyone knows about the "Add to Home Screen" feature that exists on both platforms! This is a great way to make any frequently-visited site or mobile web (HTML5) application have that "native" feel without going through the hassles of downloading, installing, and keeping things updated.

One of the huge benefits of our mobile web approach is that we've been deploying new functionality every day and users get it literally on the next reload of the app - no downloads required. This is a great way for us to iterate on the product and make sure we can address needs as we're in our early phases.

Follow along below to get this working on your iOS or Android device.

Add to Home Screen - iOS

1) First, from the home screen of the Mavenlink mobile application, click the bookmark arrow. Once you do this, you'll see the following menu options - touch "Add to Home Screen" on your phone.

2) Next, you'll see the Mavenlink logo load in and you'll have an opportunity to rename the app. We recommend that you leave it as "Mavenlink"...but that's up to you!

You're all finished! Now, you'll see the Mavenlink logo among your apps and you can drag/folder it just as you would with a standard app downloaded from the App Store. You'll notice that there's no URL bar any longer when you're in the app.

Add to Home Screen - Android 2.3+

1) First, from the home screen of the Mavenlink mobile application, click the 3 menu dots in the upper right-hand corner of your device. (Note: some devices have a menu button) Once you do this, you'll see the following menu options - touch "Save to bookmarks" on your phone.

2) Next, you'll get the "Bookmark this page" menu. Make sure you select "Add to..." and select "Home screen" in the dropdown presented. You can rename the application, but we recommend leaving it as-is!

You're all finished! Now, you'll see the Mavenlink logo among your apps and you can drag/folder it just as you would with a standard app downloaded from the App Store. (Note: if you've installed Chrome, you'll be able to select the browser using the "open with" dialog upon loading the app. This is a preference that can be saved.)

Hope that helps everyone have a better app experience!
