The Seven Most Popular Business Books Today

best-business-books-1.jpg

There are so many business books out there it's hard to choose just one. Right now, I’m looking for the next  book to read and and did a search on Google for the "Best Business Books of 2017" to see what the best options are. This is what I found.

How The Top Seven Books Stack Up

I took the top six sources (Fast Company, Inc., Forbes, Business Insider, CNBC, and Stanford - their links are below) and I made an interesting discovery: Out of the 60 or so books reviewed and ranked, only a very few appear in more than one list.

  1. "Reset: My Fight For Inclusion and Lasting Change" by Ellen Pao ranked in the top ten by Business Insider, CNBC and Fast Company

  2. "Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy" by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant was listed in Fast Company and Inc.

  3. "The Captain Class: The Hidden Force That Creates the World’s Greatest Teams" by Sam Walker appeared in Inc., Business Insider and CNBC

  4. "The Power of Moments" by Chip Heath and Dan Heath, the authors of Switch is listed in Fast Company and Forbes

  5. "Principles" by Ray Dalio with quotes from Bill Gates and Tony Robbins on the cover appeared in Business Insider and Inc.

  6. "The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google" by Scott Galloway was ranked by Fast Company and Business Insider

  7. "Barking up the Wrong Tree: The Surprising Science Behind Why Everything You Know About Success is (Mostly) Wrong" by Eric Barker made Fast Company and the Business Insider list

What Sells?

Out of all of the ranked and rated books I found only one made Amazon’s top ten list, "Principles" by Ray Dalio. According to Business Insider: “Ray Dalio is as well known for leading the largest hedge fund in the world, Bridgewater Associates, as he is for the highly unusual (and controversial) philosophy of "radical truth" and ‘radical transparency’ that he's instilled into the firm.” The reviews are good, so maybe it’s worth a try.

I ended up getting "Barking up the Wrong Tree" by Eric Barker because I liked the title. I’ll let you know what I think and please make a comment and let me know your thoughts on any of the books you’ve read. Thanks.
